The German Third Reich, along with its military, the Wehrmacht, has been a fascination for many collectors and historians over the years. There is a mystique associated with the combat formations, branches of service and their weapons.

Postcards of the Wehrmacht: Volume One is one of the areas where history and collecting meet. All are period photographs that are a window into time and even events and battles. Postcards can provide information and insight on equipment, uniforms, accoutrements, personalities, simple soldiers and much more.

After collecting postcards of the Third Reich for many years, we have noticed a lack of information available to the collecting community on the subject. We hope this book will begin to address that.

In this volume, we have focused on the details of the images. Furthermore, we have included translations of all original German text, representative backs, variations, additional information on weapons, equipment, and special card content, and indexed each card with a unique reference number. Related historical information about each series and its contents is provided.
