By Jose Manrique Garcia. The great "Captured Enemy Material Exhibition" that opened at the Hotel Kursaal In San Sebastian in 1938 was the subject of several catalogs and commemorative brochures, all of them printed in short runs. Being as they are an unsurpassable array of part of the material in service in the Republican Ejercito Popular, as well as a first-class historical testimony of the aid sent to that side, this book is a task to recover that historical event and bring back from oblivion many of the pictures taken at the time, which have remained so far unpublished. Unfortunately, this excellent arms array gathered at the Gran Kursaal was soon disbanded and the collection was handed over dimembered to different Depots and Arsenals, some of them going to the Army museum. Only a small part has survived to this day, preserved at different specific military museums. This excellent book by AF Editions also fantastic color plates showing the arms in their original colors, but the period photos, mostly of excellent quality make this book an excellent edition to any military library. 96 pp.
