They provide an astonishing portrait of the spirit shown by the pilots, the flight crews and the ground crews who supported them. The author has amassed a mammoth photographic collection of aircraft sporting nose art. Many of the images were obtained from the National Archives, but large numbers are from a far reaching correspondence with veterans themselves. A special color section features photographs of actual nose art panels cut from aircraft after the war, now housed in the Canadian War Museum. High quality oversize hardcover book.
